Mascara Monday: MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash.

I am addicted to thick, black lush lashes. This new mascara from MAC just does that to mine. Meet MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash.

MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash

In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash features a whipped and very lightweight formula that delivers intense, blacker-than-black pigment. The over sized rubber tipped brush is designed to apply the rich pigments on lashes from root to tip. It adds volume, extends length and even creates and holds a curl. It does all this while it conditions for softness and flexibility.

I like the contoured handle of the wand and it helps to control the brush easier. The brush is the longest I have ever seen on a mascara. It really makes lashes super dark and thick. When wearing all day, I never experienced smudging, clumping or flaking.

MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash

MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash is available right now at all MAC locations including Nordstrom and online at maccosmetics.com. It retails for $21.00.

Mascara Monday: Avon Mega Effects Mascara.

This is the most differently shaped mascara wand I have ever seen. I was sort of afraid to even try it because it looks so intense. Have you seen the new Avon Mega Effects Mascara?

How to apply Avon Mega Effects Mascara | Beautiful Makeup Search

This secret to this mascara is obviously the multi-dimensional brush and straight forward application process. Now that you have seen it, let's take a look at it and how it works.

Avon Mega Effects Mascara

First, I didn't really know where to open, but quickly figured out to simply lift off the red cap. Inside, I see what looks like a paint brush in a cover. I pulled straight up (hard), and out came the little paint brush looking device.

Avon Mega Effects Mascara

This is no paint brush I must say. It is actually a comb that is curved a bit, just like the shape of the eye. On the comb are various lengths of soft plastic bristles that are crisscrossed on top of the comb. In the comb lies a ton of mascara. It actually holds 40% more mascara than an average mascara brush, making it easier to get the formula into lashes.

Avon Mega Effects Mascara Application Tips | Beautiful Makeup Search

The handle is hinged and moves. I played with it to find where it exactly it felt most comfortable close to my eye. I did find it easy to hols once I had it correctly positioned, close to my eye.

The application process took some getting used too. I am so used to holding a wand horizontally over my lashes. To be honest though, by applying straight on, it is easier to see and get to each and every lash. It is especially great for bottom lashes, in my opinion.

The formula itself, was nice, and I found that I just need two coats to get a nice defined look with a lot of volume. Because you do get a lot of mascara on the brush, it does need a minute or two to dry between coats. I also don't suggest over using, because three or more coats can start to get clumpy. The mascara seems to last most of the day and I did not experience any smudging or flaking. With practice, this mascara definitely gets the job done.

Avon Mega Effects Mascara sells for $10.00 and is available now through your Avon representative or avon.com.

COVERGIRL Flamed Out Mascara Review.

I am a HUGE fan of COVERGIRL mascara. I have used just about every one that have, with my latest fave being LashBlast Clump Crusher Mascara. I have been using it daily since I tried it late last year. At night, I use it with another mascara for really bold - look at me - lashes. I almost didn't want to try their latest Flamed Out Mascara because I just love Clump Crusher so much, and didn't really have the need for another. But I've been hearing such good things that I just had to give it a try.

COVERGIRL Flamed Out Mascara Review

Flamed Out Mascara is very different in a big way - the brush. Just take a look at how different it looks. It is made with a thick nylon and wire brush with a little wedge, or indent in the middle. It was designed this way to more evenly coat lashes and deposit the mascara pigment all over lashes. By doing this, it helps to add a lot more volume to lashes, and helps them curl up and out at the same time.

Flamed Out is available in the following:

Very Black BlazeBlack BlazeBlack/Brown BlazeBrown Blaze

I found that I need a good two coats with Flamed Out Mascara to get my lashes looking how I like them. To apply, I brush up, like normal. For the second coat, I sort of roll the wand up my lashes. This is easy to do because the little indent sort of hugs the lashes. My lashes look great all day while wearing. I experience no flaking, smudging, or clumping.

Will it replace my favorite Clump Crusher mascara? I like Flamed Out a lot and I am more than impressed with it. For an everyday low maintenance, light makeup look, I'll probably use Clump Crusher. But for anything else, it will be Flamed Out for sure. I am also going to try layering both Clump Crusher over Flamed Out for lots of volume when I want a more dramatic look.

COVERGIRL Flamed Out Mascara Before & After

COVERGIRL Flamed Out Mascara is available at your favorite drugstore and mass retailer now. It sells for about $5.99.
